My Winter Wonders | Beauty Necessities for the Cold!

We all love a bit of Autumn but our poor bodies aren't that keen if they aren't well looked after. Hydration is crucial and if it's done with good products it won't seem like such a chore, prepping for the winter months!

1. Kérastase Nutritive Nectar Thermique Leave in Creme

This is aimed towards dry to very dry hair and contains heat styling potective agent making this a great haircare item for the winter weather. You are bound to be pulling out the straighteners in the winter to keep the frizz at bay and this rich, luxurious leave in conditioner really softens the hair, making it more manageable and luscious despite the cold!

2. A hair tie for those sudden bouts of rain. This is England after all.

3. Frizz Ease Extra Strength Serum

Once the hair is styled, run this through the ends for a sleek look. Pop it in your handbag if you know you will be outdoors for the day so you aren't caught out; popping in and out of hot and cold is the main reason behind frizzies!

4. A moisturising face cream

This is a great one by Davines I got in a Glossybox early this year, but any thick, moisture rich cream will do. Even oily skin needs to be hydrated to correct the balance, just go for a lighter day cream or keep a good blotting powder on you.

5. Origins Drink Up Intensive Mask

My most recent love, I use this about 3 times a week. Just apply a thick layer of this luscious clear cream all over at night time and drink in the scent of Apricot Kernel Oil, Mango Butter, Rose Flower water and transport yourself to paradise island. This really does fantastic things overnight and your skin is left renewed and nourished by dawn.

6. Vaseline Essential Moisture Clean Feeling Lotion

I think I have stressed the need for hydration. Hydrate everywhere with this sunny bottle of goodness!

 7. A Dark Lip

Autumn's classic look; this never goes out of fashion and if done, it must be done well. There are tonnes of dark lip shades on the market but one of my favourites from the High Street is Topshop's Beguiled. This is back in stores this year and is a delicious semi matte burgundy shade with some warmth to it. It has a glow to it without being sparkly or frosty and keeps my lips hydrated.

If you aren't keen on dark red lippy and feel it's too gothic and vampy for your sweet self, a lip stain is an easy way to get the look as it can be sheered out and dabbed on with your ring finger. My cream lip stain in 04 by Sephora is super dark and matte and is seduction in a tube.

Dark lips are great at any time, sharpen up a look with a sharp lip pencil to take it from day to night. Mac's 'Currant' is deep enough to be used alongside a multitude of dark lips or by itself as an all over shade.

 8. Estee Lauder Double Wear Light Foundation

A good, long lasting foundation to take you through the change in temperature, weather conditions and constant food and drink to keep warm is definitely my staple Double Wear Light. This really does last all day, does not need a powder top up throughout the day for most of the time and is a great colour match for me. It is hard to work with at the beginning as it can seem thick and difficult to blend. One tip is to let me heat up by applying with your fingers straight onto the face. A little goes a long way but is my foundation of choice for the colder months.

9. Nuxe Reve de Miel Lip Balm

I had this hidden in my handbag so its not in the photo but I cannot live without this. It tastes exactly like Pret Chocolate and Orange cookies (yummy!) and is a very serious lip treat! Oh and I love that it isn't overly shiny on the lips at all!
